Giveaways!

As many of you know, we cloth diapered MZ, so naturally we're planning on cloth diapering our next one. I've been entering every cloth diaper giveaway that I've come across, and now I'm sharing them all with you just in case you'd like to enter (diapers make great baby shower gifts...). Plus posting about the giveaways gets me an extra entry!

I also used a sling carrier with MZ, which is something I plan on doing again, but I would like to try other types of carriers. So here's another giveaway.

Looking Back

As you may have picked up from my last post, I'm getting pretty excited about this baby! Not that I wasn't before, but now that I'm almost to the halfway point, about to find out the gender, and feeling little kicks and punches now and then...I definitely have baby on my mind! Now don't worry, I won't subject you to pictures of baby items again...this time it will be actual babies ;) Well, just one...MZ. I would put up some pictures of K-Lou, but that was back before I had a digital camera so I'd have to scan them all and I don't have a scanner. So, for now it will just be MZ!

Taken July 21, he was born July 16

July 22 sportin' his preemie clothes!

What a good big sister! See that blanket in the background? My grandma made it, Mz got a handmade blanket from each of his great-grandmas and still uses both...I'm hoping they will each be starting another one in a few weeks (hint, hint).

So That I'm Not a Liar

You see, my mom's birthday was last week and we threw a surprise party for her. I was in charge of collecting photos to make a slideshow out of. I got some and decided to throw them up on my Google web albums so that my sister could download and print some of them (we were planning on placing pictures on the tables too). Well, I forgot that people could subscribe to your web albums, so I got the following text from my mom:
"Where did u get those pictures?"
Oops! I called my sister to see what I should say and she didn't answer. So, I came up with the following answer:
" I found a box of old photos. There are a bunch of dad as a kid too so I think I must have them from a high school project or something. I figured I'd scan them before returning them."
She seemed to buy it. Now, in my defense this is true...of course, that's not where all of the pictures came from! Then about 5 min later I remembered that I had named the photo album "birthday pics". Original, I know. At this point I'm thinking I didn't really convince my mom and that she's still suspicious. Then my sister gets back to me and says that it's too bad that her birthday is already past because then I could just tell her that I was going to do a birthday post on my blog for her. I decide to try it anyway. So I send my mom yet another text, this one asking if it would be ok if I posted some of the pictures on my blog. That I wanted to do a special birthday post for her and my dad (who's birthday is today...Happy Birthday!) but that I had wanted it to be a surprise but had forgotten that people could subscribe to my photo albums. It worked! Crisis averted! The only problem is that I had to lie to my mom. So, now I'm making my lie true...that works, right?

Happy birthday Mom and Dad!

Bibles Unbound

Daniel and I have decided that this year we don't want to do birthday gifts for ourselves. Part of the reason is that we're tired of all the commercialism surrounding birthdays and holidays, the other part is that we've both been feeling like God has been wanting us to take more notice of Christians who are being persecuted. We've been doing a lot of praying, but have been feeling like we need to do more. So, we decided that for this month we're going to take the money we budgeted for my birthday gift and send Bibles to China instead! Now, I'm not telling you all about this to make you think we're awesome or anything, but rather to see if any of you want to join us! So, here's the deal (for all the info, visit Bibles Unbound):
For $30 Bibles Unbound will send you a box containing 5 New Testaments, packaging supplies and a list of names and addresses for people in China. You then package up the Bibles, say some prayers and send them off! They don't go directly to individuals (for safety reasons), but get sent to a distribution center that sends them off.
So, what do you think? Wanna get in on the fun? It's a great learning opportunity for you kids too ;) The Bibles are $6 each, so if you have $6 or $12 (or even $30!) that you want to add to the fund, let us know. Then when the Bibles arrive, we can all get together and have a Bible packing party!
For my family: I know this is a little to late for some, but if you have yet to get me a birthday gift, this would be a great one! Feel free to take the money you would have used to buy me a gift and add it to the China Bible fund instead =)
