I've spent the last week working on sourdough. While it wasn't hard and only took a few minutes a day, it took a week! I was so worried it wouldn't work. Finally yesterday I rolled up my sleeves and went to work kneading. After succeeding in covering myself and the kitchen in flour, I got this:
And then after letting it rise for a couple of hours (without yeast mind you) it turned into this:
Bet you can't guess what picture comes next!
Didn't expect that did you? Kelsi thought it was funny...she was giggling away as if I didn't notice!
Testing...
So far so good....
Score!
The recipe made 3 large loaves, so I figured it would easily last us a week if not longer. As of this morning we've eaten 3/4 of a loaf. Maybe I need to get started on my next batch!

I cannot believe you turned your oven on in this heat, you crazy thing! Looks yummy. I can't do recipes with yeast. I am special!
Mmmm. I love sourdough. If you like to make sourdough bread you should def. keep a starter around! You just keep feeding it and it will last for months and months!
I don't eat much bread, but I used to have a bread maker and your grandpa and I would eat an entire loaf when I used it. Hot bread and melting butter, yummy! Nothing better. Yours looks so good!
Looks amazing! Tell Kelsi she should be a bread spokesmodel. So did you use soaked wheat flour or a gluten free one?
